William Harvey Research Conferences is proud to announce that following the success of the inaugural event, the 2nd John Vane Memorial Symposium 2007 once again attracted a host of world-class speakers in the field of Pulmonary Vascular Disease. The meeting was co-chaired by Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub FRS and Professor Lewis Rubin. The programme gave a fascinating insight into both basic science and clinical concepts with presentations on ground-breaking topics. It also provided an ideal forum for those with an interest in prostacyclin science and pulmonary vascular disease to meet and exchange ideas.

The Symposium was held at The Royal Society, the independent scientific academy of the UK and the Commonwealth dedicated to promoting excellence in science. Situated in the heart of London, The Royal Society has world class conference facilities and also provides a unique perspective on science both past and present.

William Harvey Research Conferences was the brainchild of Sir John Vane and this symposium not only celebrated his achievement in the discovery of prostacyclin, but as would have been his wish, looked to the future in this fascinating area of science.
